Crazy Sexy Reboot Starts Today

I’m excited! The Crazy Sexy Reboot starts today and I’ve already juiced up my juice breakfast (see below for recipe and see above for one big fan of the green delicious juice and yes, for the record, the black kale can and will stain). I’m ready to eat my Tofu Eggless Salad on Gluten Free bread for lunch. Tonight, I’ve got a Thai faux-Peanut sauce vegetable with Quinoa already prepped. It should be delicious!

It’s Day 1 and we’ve got about 25 virtual participants joining us. I’ll be sending out emails frequently with fun recipes, support and good cheer. If you’d like to be in on the emails, just ask in the comments and we’ll get you added.

To ensure that I have a super successful Reboot, I’ve gone the extra mile and signed up with 21 Habits. I’ve deposited 21 dollars with them and every day I check in, I get $1 back. But on a day I’m not successful at my goal, the $1 gets donated to charity. Everyone wins!

For the record, Jamisen loves this Green Juice (really!). In your juicer, juice the following:

2 peeled cucumbers

4-5 romaine leaves

4 stalks celery

1-2 broccoli stems

1-2 pears

1″ piece of Gingerroot

I tossed in some big leafy black kale in addition to the goodness in the recipe above and it was delicious!

Yes please add me to your email list! I just got the Crazy Sexy Diet book and this is my first day no coffee. I hope to complete the 21 day challenge. Thanks for inspiring me!

    • Anne-Marie says:

No coffee! Remember, if you get horrible headaches, have a glass of green tea. Don’t torture yourself if you’re in pain =)

That said, welcome to the club! I’m excited to have the company. I got super hungry today around 11 but then the rest of the day, I did okay. And working this evening, I’m feeling tired but that could be the baby and nothing else. =)

  2. Debbie F. says:

I would like to be included in the reboot emals.Thank you.

  3. Leslie says:

Awesome start! I have had my morning juice:

    2 peeled cucumbers
    5 peeled carrots
    3 granny smith apples
    2 stalks of kale

It made about 36 oz of juice!

Then for lunch I stayed raw with raw almonds, avocado, brown rice cake, and a smoothie of almond milk, strawberries, blackberries and spinach!

Tonight I will cook a sweet potato and quinoa with veggies!

Yum! Oh and please add me to the email support list!

    • Anne-Marie says:

Oh yeah, those cucumbers have so much juice! That would make a huge amount of juice. =)

Your lunch sounds amazing. I got some Vega protein (a Crazy Sexy approved protein powder) and some raspberries and I might mix those up tomorrow with some kale for a mid afternoon snack. =)

Definitely will add you to the list.

  4. sarah says:

I have been juicing for awhile and cannot handle so much celery; it is SO salty! Otherwise it is tolerable lol…

    • Anne-Marie says:

Oh interesting, I totally don’t taste it! I toss a couple ounces of water into the juicer to get the last of the juice out so maybe that helps tone it down …

  5. Would love to be on your email list. A friend and I arent starting until the 26th, but would love ideas to be prepared when we start. :)

    • Anne-Marie says:

Wonderful! I am so glad you’ll join us, ten days later. The green juice is extremely lovely in the morning. I have a lot of energy from it. Love it!

  6. Michelle says:

I’d love to be on the email list too. Your food for the day sounds great.

please add me to your list. I started today with you!

    • Anne-Marie says:

YAY! How was Day 1 for you? I was SUPER hungry at 11 a.m. but I did okay for the rest of the day – even worked out. I’m pretty tired now but that could be the baby and not the diet =)

  8. Amy says:

Please add me to your list, too. I’m doing the “re-boot” myself, starting the day with carrot/beet juice!

    • Anne-Marie says:

Carrot Beet juice – go liver cleanse! =) Remember, beet juice makes your urine and anything else in the toilet pink or red so don’t worry if that happens =) We’ll put you on the list!

  9. Michele says:

Please add me to the list, I will be starting it once my VitaMix comes in!

  18. Hey Anne-Marie :)

I would like to be included in you email list please. I started my cleanse on Friday the 13th. I am a wife and a mother of two very active boys. I also work full-time. I am a coffee addict and wanted to give myself the weekend to cope with any withdrawal symptoms that I may experience. Luckily my heads were not to bad. Thank you for all of the cheerful motivation. Jamisen is adorable!

  19. Cindy H says:

Hi Anne-Marie, would it be possible to be added to the email list? I joined on the dish where you also posted. I am on day two. Off of coffee and all of the other things restricted on the reboot. I’ve read the book and am excited to really give it my best to stay on track for the 21 days. Here’s to a great eating and fitness reboot :D

Me too please Anne-Marie, really need it and would love to give it a go:)

  24. Lisa W. says:

Very curious about the faux-peanut vegetable quinoa recipe! I’ve had some success substituting sunflower seed butter for peanut butter.

  25. Patty Staniewicz says:

My Vitamix has mostly just made sweet juices and smoothies and I’d love more inspiration to go green. Can you add me as well? Thanks!

    • Anne-Marie says:

Green Smoothies are SO fun! I basically just toss everything into a blender that I’d normally put in a salad and it’s really good =)

  26. Renee says:

I would like to be added to the email list.

Started on Saturday and I had the worst headache for the last 3 days, today it’s not so bad. The no coffee/soda has really taken a toll. I have come this far, so I am not going to have any. Have been drinking the green tea and keep telling myself “This to shall pass!”

Jamisen is as cute as a button! He is getting so big!

  27. Michelle G says:

Please add me to the email list as well!

  28. patti says:

we arrived home today after our road trip and are all geared up to begin tomorrow, on schedule!
i skipped the coffee this morning though….getting a head start….and o boy, the headache is persistent.
not hugely painful, but it has been dragging on quietly all day.
i am drinking detox tea and taking it easy.
and tomorrow i will begin with a lot less pain.

    we have breakfast plans:
    smoothies with almond/sunflower/pumpkin, raspberries/banana, barley greens/spinach, cinnamon/turmeric/honey.
lunch is a variation of the tofu crunch salad from your email.
dinner is brown rice with chickpea and sweet potato curry, with mint and lemon.
we have fresh fruit, fruit balls, and almond milk for snacks.

i am totally excited by the prospect and anne-marie, thanks again for suggesting it and whipping us all up!

  29. Tammy says:

I’m a part-time juicer (a slacking part-time juicer…lol) I’d love to be added to the email list for some moral support. Thank you!! :o )

  30. Bonita says:

I have no input about the Crazy Sexy Reboot, but I absolutely love when you post pictures of Jamisen.
He is growing so fast! What a cutie.

    • Anne-Marie says:

Aw, thanks! Yes, he is growing incredibly quickly! It is amazing to see how fast growth. He definitely keeps us entertained!

  31. patti says:

day two and we are off to a smashing start.
    no headaches!
green smoothies and fresh fruit for breakfast, with a pot of detox tea.
lunch is grilled tofu and salad with nut/seed butter dressing.
dinner is a variation on the buddha bowl….brown rice, different herbs, cauli and cabbage, seaweed flakes, but definitely the same family.
i do feel a bit lethargic, but have minimal plans for the day.

    • Anne-Marie says:

Fantastic! I’m on Day Five and it’s definitely easy now. The first couple three days I was definitely lethargic AND I was sooooo moody on day two and three.

Are you on our daily email? We definitely tell people how things are working (or not). I admitted the crankiness in that email =)

  32. patti says:

i am on the daily email….and your food suggestions are wonderful, thank you!

i made a smashing dressing for our buddha bowls last night:
3/4 cup of almond milk pulp (the strainings from when you make almond milk)
a whole peeled lemon, with a couple of thumbnail-sized slices of peel
    1tbsp red wine vinegar
two generous handfuls of fresh parsley
    2 cloves garlic
a dash of tamari, a dash of warm water
    sea salt, black pepper
whizzed for 30 seconds in the vitamix

it made a creamy delicious bright green dressing….the almond pulp is the secret!
and using a whole lemon gives extra fibre and flavour.

    • Anne-Marie says:

That sounds DELICIOUS! And another great use for Almond Milk Pulp. Whenever I make Almond Milk, I have no idea what to do with the pulp (except put it into soap!).

Thanks for the recipe. It sounds amazing.

How are you feeling? I’m feeling really good – light, happy, energetic, cheerful.

  33. patti says:

this is day four and i am feeling pretty great.
my husband is doing really well too… drinking spinach and berry smoothies without a murmur.
we had been eating far too much cheese and bread in this household of late and this reboot is forcing us to think creatively about food again!
we aren’t big meat eaters at the best of times….but dairy, wheat and sugar are definitely over-consumed around here.

for nut pulp ideas, try here : http://almondpulp.com/
there is a website for practically everything.
the stuff is fine to throw into baking of all kinds….pancake batter….dressings…dips….i bet it would be nice added to soups too.
i added some to hummus, which was pretty good.

    • Anne-Marie says:

Have never heard of that site. Will check it out next.

I’m with you – my eating habits had gotten reallllly lax (Subway for lunch because I wasn’t prepared) and this has reminded me how easy it is to cook, how fun it is to try new things and really inspired me to find all the great foodie blogs out there. There are SO many!

I know that, for me, this lifestyle isn’t totally practical (I miss yogurt and eggs and gluten!) but I am going to 100% keep the green smoothies, the juicing and increase my salads and greens. It’s really easy – so easy that I didn’t ever realize that I could eat that much in veggies during the day.

My cravings are going away which is really nice. I actually smelled bread today and my mouth didn’t water! =)

  34. patti says:

yes, good quality yoghurt and eggs…it is hard for me to see those as long term evil.
i make my own yoghurt, we get biodynamic milk locally, and our beautiful eggs come from a neighbour with free range poultry.
but i am thinking hard about wheat.

and the vegan/raw blogs are mind blowing!

  35. Hi Anne Marie,

Please add me to your list. My brother and I are on day 10 of the cleanse. Thanks so much for spurring us all on and suggesting Kris Carrr’s book.

During the hectic fall season I find myself eating to much fast food and junk food and Halloween candy….Then comes Christmas with all those yummy cookies and finger food and eggnog….Well all that indulging took it’s toll and it’s time to regain control!

Although I know I won’t continue to adhere to an all vegan lifestyle after the cleanse, I have learned the importance and benefits of adding more vegetables to my diet and look forward to eating healthy.

    Jamisen is a cutie!

    Thanks again,
    Cindy

  36. Patsy says:

I am getting into this a little late…on chapter 4, but would love to be put on the emails.

    thanks!

  38. Debbie says:

Hi, Please add me to the emails, I need the support too. First i have to read the book. I hear so much about green smoothies, I cant wait to try them. Thank you Debbie
