How to Prevent Fading & Browning
Have you ever had a bar of soap that bleached out in the sun or gradually turned dark brown? If you’re doing outdoor craft fairs this year, this is an especially pertinent topic. In this episode, I’ll show you how to use UV Inhibitor and Vanilla Color Stabilizer to prevent this from happening.

For the Peach soap:
4 oz. clear soap base
Peach labcolor
Peach fragrance
3 grams UV Inhibitor
Owl mold
For the Vanilla Bean Soap:
4 oz. white soap base
3 ml Vanilla Color Stabilizer
3 ml Vanilla Bean fragrance oil
Rectangle mold

Our most ambitious project of the Soap Queen series to date is a project developed by Paula of PJ Soaps. She taught this project at last year’s Soap Weekend Intensive and everyones’ soap came out beautifully – even those that had never made soap before.

Pre-heat 4 quart pan of water on simmer (for rinsing your tools)
Gardenia Fragrance Oil
Sensuous Sandalwood
Sea Moss Fragrance Oil
shea melt and pour
clear shaving soap
Brown Oxide
Green Oxide
Black Oxide
4 heat safe containers
1 Clamshell Mold
1 double sided cleaning tool (in the tool kit)
1 strong metal dinner fork (with straight tines)
1PJ Scraper tool (in the tool kit)
1 Misting sprayer filled with rubbing alcohol

1/2 to 1 pound of soap pieces
ours are made with Ultramarine blue, Chrome green oxide, and clear soap base.

Quiet on the Set!
Sunday is a day of relaxation. Ah, who am I kidding? A. I’m self-employed and there’s never any rest for the self-employed and B. SoapQueenTV is starting soon so Sunday is a day for filming! I’m on set of SoapQueenTV shooting our very first segment on Melt & Pour basics. EEEEK! This is so exciting I can barely contain myself. I’m in between takes right now and thought I would post a couple of sneak peak pictures.Uh oh- my staff is yelling at me to get back on set. Gotta run! Don’t worry, more later!
