I had the great fortune of meeting the ‘Pied Piper of Facebook,’ Mari Smith on Friday. Jody Bergsma (noted artist and rockin’ businesswoman) and I went to the Total Networking Event in Seattle to meet, mingle and hang with 300+ other businesswomen who wanted to learn more about how social networking could benefit their businesses. You don’t need to convince me of that! Follow me on Twitter here, become a Fan on Facebook here, watch me on YouTube here or sign up for this blog feed to come directly to your email here.
Mari did an incredible job inspiring the audience to consider utilizing social media to speak to anyone and everyone. No longer is there a gatekeeper to keep you and your message away from the masses. You can use social media to connect with customers and friends in entirely new ways. If you’re not on Twitter, you can learn more about how to do this from this Michael Hyatt ‘How To Twitter’ blog.
Tonight, I’m at a Oscar watching party with the force (and face) behind Baker’s Breakfast Cookies, Erin Baker, and Jody Bergsma.
We’re munching on the most incredible cheese plate from local cheese shop, Old World Deli and enjoying the beautiful fashions on the screen.
In addition to the Social Media Conference, the weather cooperated in Bellingham for a hike to the top of Oyster Dome in the beautiful Chuckanuts with my sister in law, Cheriss. You can see the photo from the top here. I hope you had an equally fantabulous weekend. Happy soaping!
Funny! Erin makes some rockin’ good products. In fact, I’m eating a breakfast cookie right now! =)
Anne-Marie! I was shopping at TopFoods in Oly and picked up a yummy box of Baker’s Brownie Bites and had the feeling that the gal on the back of the box was vaguely familiar…hmmm….doh! It’s Erin! A definite staple in our house from now on. 😉

Really enjoying Disqus and the opportunity to comment back to individual people. I think that it’s going to be a permanent change. I haven’t found any drawbacks yet …
Love all the photos! Just love them! Also, love Disqus at your blog. Isn’t it the greatest!??
I LOVE that hike but man does it hurt! My legs felt soooooo sore yesterday. I am dreading ‘Sweat Camp’ today. If it’s a leg day, I’m done for =))
Conferences that are that much fun in addition to being educational are priceless!
Gorgeous photo from the Oyster Dome! It’s been a while since we did the Chuckanut Drive; will have to take the kids there one day. 🙂
Hi Anne Marie, great post… I recently did a blog post of my own about the power of social media, especially interesting for those starting out and a bit scared about everything. It can be read here http://soaperstar.blogspot.com… – it might be of some interest.
