Happy Birthday, Jamisen

It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since Jamisen came home and added to our happiness quotient. We had a wonderful time with Jamisen’s birthday party. It was low-key, with family only. I’m guessing this is the last time we’ll get away without any of Jamisen’s little friends at his party.

2 year old birthday weekend

Jamisen was still a little confused about what all the fuss was for but he gamely played along, eating a mini cupcake (not the one in his hands; that one never got eaten), clapping after ‘Happy Birthday’ was over and enjoying the house full of family.

2 year old birthday weekend

Jamisen was confused about the presents. He couldn’t understand why we made him rip open the paper, see the toy, say ‘thank you’ and then *not* let him play with the toy right then and there. He learned a lot about delayed gratification. We had said ‘no presents’ but it’s hard to go to a party with a little tyke and not want to buy something fun. He did get a drum set (thank you Grandma Kelly and Grandpa Winston) that seems to be a favorite, closely followed by an indoor golf set from Auntie Sharon.

2 year old birthday weekend

As a birthday gift for Chris and I, Grandma and Grandpa Faiola took Jamisen to the park. Jamisen loves his rock throwing (more than anything!) and is proving to be a typical boy with his fascination of water, rocks, dirt and mud.

2 year old birthday weekend

It was nice to get some date time with my husband to (eeeek) plan our house move. That’s right, we’re moving this week because every woman that is 8.5 months pregnant desperately wants to pack an entire house and then unpack the same house. (shrugs shoulders). Meh. You can’t time when the ideal family home will come onto the market and desperately call out your name with a plaintive, “I will be perfect for your growing family.” It’s going to be a wonderful time for us to bond as a family during this move and then make new family memories bringing the new baby home in the new house.

Moving weekend 2013

Thankfully, we had Grandma and Grandpa Faiola to help with some of the heavy packing for a day and get us a good head start on the moving process. We are not hiring professional movers so it’s going to be a long week – but I am looking forward to cleaning and organizing. It’s like spring cleaning, just a little early! Plus, I do know where to get boxes. =) Have a great week! I’ll be blogging and checking in like normal after Jamisen goes to bed at night.

    Happy Birthday Jamisen!

And brave girl Ann-Marie. I can’t imagine moving while pregnant. Of course last time I was pregnant I couldn’t imaging bending over to pick up my shoes. lol But good luck to you and don’t push too hard. Make sure to put your feet up once in a while and get in plenty of liquids. Don’t wanna push Bramble Baby out too soon :0)

Having now packed for 1.5 days, I can tell you that I wish I couldn’t imagine moving while pregnant! Wowzers, back pain! =))) But it will all be worth it when we’re settled into the new place well before the baby showing up =)

I can’t imagine a two year old boy who doesn’t like plunking rocks in the water- I figure there must be something very satisfying to the psyche of a boy to hear the sound of rocks hitting the water. Jamisen does look so handsome with his little man haircut! Congratulations on your move, and yes, life doesn’t always time these events when we would like, but it will give you plenty of great memories! Blessings to your family and happy nesting :-) :-)

    • Anne-Marie says:

Life did not time this but I’m certain it will turn into a blessing in the end. As long as the baby doesn’t decide to come early, we’re all good and I’ll roll with the timing =)

I agree, that new hair cut is awesome! He looks like a real little man.

Happy birthday Jamison! I hope you get unpacked before Bramble girl comes. But if not, you know you will hit the crazy cleaning phase and the new house will be ready just in time for her arrival!

    • Anne-Marie says:

I hope so too! After packing for almost 2 days, I can tell you the last thing I want to see is another box … and we still have the actual moving and then the actual unloading tomorrow.

I will need to be pretty motivated or else we’ll be eating off of paper plates for the next few months =)

It’s hard to believe Jamisen is 2! He looks very grown up (sigh). I hope the move goes well. Happy Birthday to Jamisen!

    Happy birthday to little Jamisen!

I dont know how you do it all Anne Marie! You are an inspiration to me ( and many others im sure), as a busy wife and mother of 2 who is trying to build a successful business I know it can be tough sometimes.

Thanks for sharing these family moments with all your “BrambleBerries”! Lol

    God Bless!

    • Anne-Marie says:

Oh that’s kind of you to say but if you could see me now, I would be anything but inspirational! =) Today definitely wiped me out and we have two more days (tomorrow is the actual moving day and then Wednesday is unpacking day – maybe that will go faster than packing …). I do need to pop into BB for a bit for some interview tomorrow though so that will be a nice break from the boxes.

Happy birthday to Jamisen! It’s cute to see him enjoying himself (albeit confused). It was nice to run into you briefly at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. Your pink coat was like a ray of the peeking sunshine. Very springy :)

Good luck with moving, too! I can’t imagine doing that 8.5 months pregnant, so I’m very impressed ;)

    • Anne-Marie says:

Thank you for noticing the coat! I couldn’t begin to button it up right now but meh, who cares!? The color is cute, even if it’s not terribly effective to wear a coat you can’t button up. =)

Great pictures and wonderful memories! Love the Thomas the Tank Engine decorations. Fun to have boys, I know a thing or two about them. Happy Birthday Jamisen. Thanks for sharing AM.

Jamisen is ALL boy and he’s not getting the gender stereotypes from me. I’m the one that bought him a mini kitchen and shopping cart well before he got a tool bench or even saw a train. He was apparently born with an innate love of trains =)

  8. Thank you for sharing your family with us! I love that! Especially being a Mom of 2 girls, 20 months and 6 months. Yikes right?

You have been a blessing to me! I used your site at first for Christmas gift ideas. Then the gifts turned into a hobby. And now that hobby is starting to turn into a small business. Which most of my profits are going to my sponsored child, Vera. Hence my Etsy shop name “for Vera”.

Your products are the cheapest I’ve found and your tutorials are worth gold themselves. Thank you for helping out people like myself! I share your site with everyone I can.
    Thank you again!!!!

    Happy birthday Jamisen!

You are brave to not use a professional mover. I just moved not too long ago and was so glad I used a mover. Money well spent. heehee.

  10. Jenny says:

Happy birthday to Jamisen! He’s growing up so quickly and he’s such a cutie. Congrats on the new house, and best of luck with the move!

  11. Michele says:

    Happy Birthday lil man!

  12. Nickie says:

2 years already???? WOW! Happy birthday :)
    Moving?…& while pregnant?! You’re brave.
Hopefully your move is going well (since this was posted 2days ago). Take it easy & take care of the bramble girl ;)

  13. A happy belated birthday to handsome little guy! Wish you many blessings and lots of love! Congratulations on your new home, Anne-Marie! To new memories in a new home!

  14. Destiny Garver says:

Oh my goodness!!! Your son and I have the same birthday!!!! I hope his birthday was great!!!!!

  15. Ambra says:

OMG It’s been two years! And you are expecting another! Boy, time does fly. Congratulations and very good wishes for the new home :)

    • Anne-Marie says:

Can you believe that two years has gone by? Or that we have another on the way? I agree, it’s a little mind-blowing to me too! We can’t wait to meet our Bramble Girl in 3 weeks (ish). It’s going to be an adjustment but we’re looking forward to it.
