A special thanks to Charity, from All Things Hold Together, for letting me blog her fabulous single serve chocolate cake recipe! It’s an update on my Chocolate (cup)Cake in a Mug post from last year. You can follow Charity on Twitter and be sure to check out All Things Hold Together, a blog about cooking, crafting, faith and family.
- 2 T flour
- 1.5 T sugar (just eyeball the 1/2 T using a tablespoon)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 T unsweetened cocoa powder
- A pinch of salt
- 2 T milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp oil
Charity used Ghirardelli unsweetened cocoa and she said it was awesome!
Directions:
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl (like a cereal bowl).
- Scrape batter into a ramekin or mug sprayed with cooking spray.
- Microwave on full power for 1 minute.
- Marvel at your creation.
- Loosen with a knife and tip onto plate.
Serve with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, if you so desire. It does not plate very well, so just top it with the scoop of ice cream and eat it in the ramekin.
Good to know, good to know. I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of microwave cakes either but I suppose in a pinch … =)
I tried it with oven and microwave both. I must say the one in oven was a lot better – fluffier and moist. Never baked a cake in 5 mins before 🙂
This looks great. I tried the mug cake (not a fan). I wonder if it will turn out like the Warm Delight microwave cake. If only I had some cocoa powder!
I made one last night, and one today! So yummy!!
Thanks for this great recipe. It's awesome for me since hubby can't eat wheat and I don't want to have a whole cake around to torture him. This way I make it, eat it, gone! 🙂
The most dangerous recipe I've ever laid eyes on. Must. make. some. now.
This looks soo good. I can't wait to try it. You know sometimes a "piece" of cake sounds so yummy, but you end up eating more, because you have to make an entire recipe. This will work fabulously.
Now, that looks like a fun little cake to make! And too easy, too quick…LOL!!! I see pounds. But, it is better than having an entire cake waiting in the kitchen!
OMG there goes the diet I have not started yet! Sounds yummy!

Now I feel like I have to start tweeting again! 🙂 Actually, I have been meaning to get back into it. I'm not sure what happened.
Oooh I can't wait to try it and check out her blog and twitter too.
