Welcome to the NEW Soap Queen!

Welcome to the new Soap Queen Blog. We are thrilled to share a happy new layout and easy-to-search categories for your convenience.

Improvements to the blog include being able to easily search our Bath and Body Tutorials by category: Bath Fizzies, Cold Process Soap, Home Crafts (think candles), Lip Products, Lotion, Melt and Pour, Soaks and Scrubs and Tips and Tricks (think oil infusions, mineral makeup, packaging tips, etc.). You can also hunt for old blog posts by date or popular tag by searching in the Archive section. Or use the search bar right under the Soap Queen header.

Check out new products, contests, promotions and other updates about BrambleBerry.Com by clicking on Bramble Berry News.

Business Musings is the category I’m passionate about. It’s a great place to share business goals, get inspired and read about other small businesses in our industry. I also do a bit of blogging there based on my experience as a business owner, so if you’re new to business, this is a great category to read through the years of posts on the nitty gritty of being self-employed.

The Personal Ramblings section is exactly what it sounds like. I love sharing the books I’m reading, the crafts I love and how fun and amazing my family is. This has to be my favorite section of the new blog!

I am a lover of cupcakes, sweet treats, healthy shakes and epicurean delights. Check out some of my favorite recipes under Soap Queen Quisine.

For your reading and browsing ease, we’ve minimized the blog posts on the main page. Just click the “(more…)” button at the bottom to read the full post.

I would love to hear your questions, suggestions or general thoughts about the new blog!

    Hi Anne-Marie

Great new design- fantastic colours – brightens up the dull days you seem to be having over there with all the snow – happy blogging

Good eye. If you see anything else like that, let me know. Obviously, I was having a sleepy moment when I was categorizing! =)

Thank you! We were going for happy, upbeat and yes, perky. =) Soapmaking is such a joyful activity that it seemed a shame not to capitalize on that!

Love the new layout! I love that I can easily search for tutorials and you have everything so nicely organized. Thanks Anne-Marie!

Thanks! We’re hoping more people get good use out of the blog now that it’s better organized =)

Lovely looking blog, Anne-Marie. I love the colours – you and I seem to have the same taste in shades of pink and purple – and the categories, which will make it easier to find older posts that I simply have to read again (and there are many of those!). I’m not the biggest fan of the teaser post with the “more…” at the bottom because I find my browser gets cluttered up with all the tabs because I’m the type of person who has to read more, but it does mean I will read all the comments because they’re right there on the screen! Congratulations on the lovely blog (both content and appearance)!

Totally know what you mean about the teaser post; it was a real internal battle trying to figure out what the best option would be but if it’s not really serving its purpose (allowing more posts to be shown on the page thus increasing general readership), we definitely won’t keep it going. =)

Aren’t they adorable? We’ll probably end up back with a Disqus commenting system like the last blog (easier to track threads, reply via email etc…) but I agree, the cute little icons really brighten up the blog!

Thank you! It took quite some time to categorize all the blog posts properly. And now, we’re working on the thumbnails …. slowly but surely … for all the projects.

    Hi Anne-Marie,

a very activating and invitating modern layout, especially the new browsing options are great! It seems very female/girlie to me, maybe you wanted your own personal girl’s section in life with the Bramble Boy to arrive soon? Hope you both are doing fine :)!

    • Anne-Marie says

Yes, definitely doing great – and getting bigger. This little boy weighs over 5 pounds and will be here in about a month. The time is definitely getting closer. And you’re probably right – the pink was probably in reaction to my house which is all brown and blue now! =)

Yay! I am extremely excited about your new format! I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago while looking for an emulsified sugar scrub recipe-and I have been hooked ever since! I was frustrated that your old blog did not have a “search” option so I’m very happy about the changes you’ve made! Just today, I looked through many of you old blog posts that I wasn’t able to find before that have been very interesting! I am new to soap and scrub making and have not made any yet but I am so looking forward to learning more through you blog!

    • Anne-Marie says

Aw, I’m so glad that it’s been helpful for you. And, I hope that this new format gives you lots of time to explore all the 4 years worth of writing and posts.

Love it! So bright, happy, and super organized! I especially like the tutorial ratings and stats you have. Very helpful!

Always improving when it seemed perfect before – that’s why we love Bramble Berry!

    • Anne-Marie says

Thanks Debbie. We are super diggin’ the bright happy colors and the tutorial ratings, we’re hoping, will be a big help to new soapers especially.

I noticed the new layout last night, it made my terrible day in to a happy one :)It looks amazing, and with the new category section I was able to find some projects I wanted to try but never got around to doing. Now they are at the top of my list!

    Thank You!

    • Anne-Marie says

I’m sorry you had a terrible day; we all get those every so often. I’m glad that the new categories will help you take advantage of all the fun projects you’ve wanted to try (and then forgotten because they got buried in the old design).
